Summer Adventure Options

Unguided ATV Tours are our most popular option and work well for travelers who prefer flexibility and independence. Guests receive a full safety briefing and riding orientation before heading out to explore the mountain trails at their own pace. Our trail crew will be on the trail in various areas to assist with anything the riders need.

Guided ATV Tours are ideal for international travelers who prefer additional support and local knowledge. A professional guide leads the ride, provides safety support, and shares insights about the wildlife and surrounding landscape. This option is particularly helpful for guests who are new to ATV riding or unfamiliar with mountain terrain. Although, most beginner riders do very well with the unguided option.

• Ride duration: 3 hours
• Ride times: 8:30am, 12pm, and 3:30pm
• Best ride times: Morning and evening (fewer people)

Other Options include Jeep, Slingshot, and Ebike rentals. Most people like to choose between an ATV or a Jeep ride. Most will also do an the Ebike ride around Lake Estes which is one of the most popular things to do in Estes Park. A 2-hour Slingshot ride is another popular and very fun supplement to your day.

• Rocky Mountain National Park passes are not required for our summer ATV rides as they take place in the National Forest where we are permitted to operate.
• Our vehicles are current model year, safe, and highly maintained.
• All staff members are certified and Backbone is A+ certified through the BBB.
• We do accept international driver’s licenses

Sample Adventure Day Itinerary for Afternoon Ride

• 9:00 AM: Breakfast at the Big Horn restaraunt
• 11:00 AM: Check in at Backbone Adventures
• 11:45 AM: Arrive at the trail head
• 12:00 PM: – 3:00 PM: Ride and have fun
• 3:30 PM: Share pictures of your ride with friends and family back home
• 4:00 PM: Get cleaned up
• 5:00 PM: Go out to dinner at Embers restaraunt

Where to Eat, Stay, and Play

We have a great working relationship with the Expedition Lodge (2 minute walk to Backbone). Book Now for a 15% discount. The lodge is the biggest hotel and most affordable in Estes Park. Centrally located, they are a short walking distance to downtown shopping, the Lake Estes bike path, and some of the best restaraunts in town. Transportation Information

Estes Park does not have Ride Share. Because of that, it is highly suggested to rent a car at Denver International Airport (DIA). If that’s not an option for your client, Estes Park Shuttle will pick up and drop off at DIA 7 days a week. Without a rental car it is difficult to experience Estes Park and the surrounding area.

Living here my entire life, this is how I would fill my schedule (minus meals) for the best experience:

14 Day Itinerary

14 days is too long for just Estes Park. I would suggest including Colorado Springs (2-hour drive from Estes Park) for a 14-day itinerary. Living in this state for my entire life, I have seen every corner of it and done every activity. Estes Park is the number one tourist destination in Colorado, and for good reason. Colorado Springs is the second best place in my opinion. Your clients will love it.
